Council Tax increase lowered due to Plaid pressure - 26/03/08

At the March meeting of Carmarthenshire County Council Plaid succeeded to have Labour and Independent councillors to agree to lower the agreed increase in Council Tax from 4.52% to 3.95%.

The proposal was initially defeated by the Independents and Labour but by the March meeting they had a change of heart. Leader of Plaid Group, Cllr Peter Hughes Griffiths said:

“There is no doubt this would not have happened but for Plaid’s demand”.
